The British market shows a considerable increase over this year, making it clear that it is one of the best established.

The representatives of the Department of Tourism of Malaga have recently been in the UK showing its tourist attractions to the main agencies of Leeds, Manchester and Georgeham, through the agreement signed at the WTM in London last week with the British company Jet2.

Janice Mather, director of Jet2 products, confirms that the company plans a total of 465,876 passengers traveling to Malaga in the summer season. This will mean a growth of 12% compared to the previous year. In winter, the English company sold about 150,000 seats in flights to Malaga.

Its wide range of destinations, about 20 in Europe, includes Malaga with four hotels: Vincci Posada del Patio, Vincci Malaga, Monte Malaga and Barceló Malaga. The agreement with Jet2 Holidays will propitiate the launch of direct flights to Malaga from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast, East Midlands, Blackpool, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle.

Given that the agreement promises to share different equities at 50% this year, a familiarization trip to the reservation center was planned for the Jet2 staff, with the objective of improving the sales process. There will be a trip for the press specializing in the cities the airline flies to.

Some of the improvements in the business plan also include commercial visits to the headquarters of travel agencies. Jet2 will insert Malaga advertisements in specialist magazines. The UK market is proving to grow and become one of the most stable in Malaga. The first quarter of this year has produced the following data: 15,705 tourists from UK, a growth of 9.6%, generating about 36,700 overnight stays, ie 11.7% more.
