Just an hour away from Málaga airport and 45 minutes from Gibraltar, Duquesa occupies a great location on the Costa del Sol, yet seems far removed from the bustling towns and resorts further to the east.
At Duquesas heart is its beautiful, 328 berth Marina, the most westerly port in Malaga. It offers a wide variety of bars, restaurants and cafes as well as numerous, much more adventurous ways to pass the time, such as Boat Trips and Scuba diving.
The other main attraction in the area is the famous La Duquesa Golf & Country club, with an 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr.
The two beaches on either side of the marina are both Blue Flag beaches and are much more relaxed and spacious than the crowded beaches you’d normally expect on the Costa del Sol.
Nearby Manilva is home to the fabulous Roman Baths of Hedionda. Its sulphur spring set in a verdant valley is somewhat neglected but still offers a unique experience to visitors (not least due to the smell!) and Julius Caesar himself is said to have been cured here.
Nearby towns include Sabinillas, with its excellent beaches and seafood restaurants. Sotogrande, the largest privately owned residential development in Andalucía, is home to Valderrama Golf Course (one of the most expensive clubs in the world) as well as numerous Polo clubs and a luxury development surrounding its marina.
