Despite the uncertainty of BREXIT, are the Brits starting to buy up property in Spain once again?

A recent article in the Property Times would certainly appear to suggest that this is the case by quoting the Spanish Registrars statement that "house purchases by British buyers in Spain are at their highest level in 10 years.

The current trend, according to property constructor Taylor Wimpey Spain, seems to be 'key ready' homes that can be quickly used during the summer. They are the ideal purchase for families that wish to escape to the more relaxed lifestyle of Spain and soak up the long days of sunshine.

Spain remains the most popular destination for Brits to purchase holiday homes or second homes in the sun. France is deemed a little unstable at the moment and the taxes and costs are higher than many of its neigbours for overseas buyers. Portugal is still popular but with less flights and less infrastructure it does not figure as highly as mainland Spain or the Islands.

Even during 2017 when BREXIT was still so fresh in peoples minds, British buyers made up 15% of expat purchases. While there is a good demand for off-plan homes, many are seeking 'key ready' for immediate use.

Here at Best in Spain we deal with properties right across the board from the fantastic off-plan modern homes being constructed up and down the coast, to key ready new homes and resale properties. Our area stretches from Mijas Costa and East of Marbella right down to Casares and Sotogrande.
